Renoir - Impressionism

Pierre Auguste Renoir is considered to be one of the original French Impressionists. Often he worked together with Monet painting the same scenes at the same time. Feel free to enjoy our gallery below and thank you for your support of the arts.

At one point Renoir changed his style from Impressionism to one of lineraism enphasising silliouetts shapes and contour.

Renoir’s piece “The Luncheon of the Boating Party” is considered to be the highlight of Impressionism. The piece is bright, big, and beautifully detailed work. In this piece, Renoir captures a group of young French girls and athletes. The piece has a fun end-of –summer party feeling and depicts a fun time of the cultured, upper-class toward the end of the 18 th century.
